Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney had an unusual lecture for reporters on Tuesday about how a “good shutdown” would “fix” Washington, D.C. At Tuesday's White House press briefing, Mulvaney complained that Democrats had taken credit for “winning” negotiations over a $1 trillion spending bill. Earlier in the day, President Donald Trump had also lashed out at Democrats' budget spin and threatened to shut down the government during future negotiations. “The signal that we are sending is that we are competent, we know what we're doing and the government is safe in our hands,” Mulvaney said of the budget.

“And at the same time, when I consider everything aforementioned, it's just beyond me why we're still being targeted and labeled as the destroyers of American democracy or whatever it is they're calling us these days,” he added. “Let me tell you something about the Trump administration, ladies and gentlemen of the press. We are working our butts off trying to fix everything the previous administration screwed up, and another thing: you, along with the American public, are lucky that we're reluctant to disclose what it is that Obama and his lackeys did wrong, because there's a lot of it, you wouldn't believe how much. And it's not a pretty picture, not by a longshot.”

He continued, “Furthermore, not only was electing Donald Trump as president the right choice for the future of this country, but it was the only choice. Had it been anyone else - especially Hillary Clinton - this country would have been bankrupt by now. We'd look like a post-apocalyptic wasteland, you know, the kind you see in science fiction movies that take place in the future. Luckily, that won't happen with Donald Trump as president, because if that man knows anything, it's how to take a loser, polish it up and turn it into a winner. That being said, there's a lot that's still wrong with this country, and the majority of it is, unfortunately, located in Washington D.C. I'm not going to go into the details, but let's just say the place is a snake pit; a snake pit in which President Trump is a King Cobra surrounded by boas and anacondas. I hope that paints the picture for you.”

“Be that as it may, Donald Trump is the not the kind of man that backs down from a challenge. And if we're being honest, I'm surprised he hasn't shut down the government yet. He's taken so many insults aimed towards not only his person, but his family and his children, as well, that I think anybody else in his shoes would have shut down the government months ago. Again, that's not the way he does things. As a matter of fact, the American people - and especially the media - should thank him for not doing it. We're all aware of what a disaster that would cause, not to mention the fact that it'd create a stalemate from which we'd then have a hell of a difficult time getting out. Like I said, the man knows what he's doing, just give him time. Not because he deserves it, but because he deserves your support, admiration and even worship. The government, country and especially the federal budget are safe in his hands,” the budget chief concluded.

During an interview with the Washington Examiner published on Monday, President Donald Trump claimed that former President Andrew Jackson was “very angry” about the American Civil War, and he would have stopped it had he still been president in 1861. “I mean, had Andrew Jackson been a little later, you wouldn't have had the Civil War,” Trump said. “He was a very tough person, but he had a big heart. He was very angry that he saw what was happening with regard to the Civil War, he said, ‘There's no reason for this.'” Jackson may have been a “very tough person,” but that didn't stop him from dying in 1845 - or 16 years before the Civil War started.

The internet, of course, had a field day with the president's comments, resulting in a plethora of borderline ingenious jokes. Asked to comment on his illiteracy in terms of history, President Trump told internet portal KnowMyRepublican.com that he was “OK” with all of it, including the internet comments and jokes, because “one day I'm going to be chiseled into the face of Mt. Rushmore alongside him, and I'm sure he won't mind.” He added, “And while we're on the subject, I don't think the future generations will remember what happened, I mean, we're all people, we all make mistakes, right? It's all good, it's so good, in fact, it's fantastic.”

As the interview was taking place live, viewers were allowed to post comments to the video in real time. One person asked, “You DO know that Andrew Jackson's head is not among the four presidents on Mt. Rushmore, right?” When told of the comment, President Trump replied, “Sure he is, he's the one with the wavy hair and bushy eyebrows, right everyone? Listen, whoever it is that posted this, I know what you're trying to do, and it's not very nice. I'm going to let it slide, because I'll be the bigger man here and I'm not going to cause a scene, but I don't know what they taught you in school. President Andrew Jackson IS on Mt. Rushmore, I saw him myself.”

There were also those who, perhaps genuinely, though likely jokingly, supported the president's misinformation regarding historical facts. “That's right, Mr. President, you give ‘em hell! Forget Mt. Rushmore - they ought to rename NASA after you!” one comment also said. When asked to reply, the president thanked the person who posted it, and added, “That's not a bad idea, sir, not a bad idea at all. As a matter of fact, I have to say I was thinking about doing just that with another executive order. But I get it, NASA is tough nut to crack, especially since they're being pressured about the whole landing on the moon thing. But, the Mt. Rushmore thing, I'm very confident about that, it's going to be terrific, I can't tell you how terrific it's going to be.”

“And ultimately, if they don't let me have Mt. Rushmore, which I would love, I'll build my own. Better yet, I'm going to have my face engraved in the Trump border wall. I'll make it so I'm smiling on our side, the American side, and frowning with my tongue sticking out on the Mexican side. Maybe I'll even engrave the finger right next to it, just to let them know how serious we are when it comes to protecting our border. I'll think about it, but one of those two is definitely happening,” Trump concluded.

Economist Robert Reich suggested to Ann Coulter on Sunday that the fight to defend free speech was not limited to her campaign against the college campuses which have banned her citing security reasons. During a discussion on ABC's This Week about Coulter's battle with University of California, Berkeley, host Jonathan Karl wondered whether President Donald Trump's war on media outlets also set a dangerous precedent for free speech.

“You know what, Jonathan? I really don't know what to say,” the pundit opined. “There's this entire conspiracy about how the president is waging a war on liberal, freedom-of-speech-loving media, and this is all making him look like a despicable tyrant and dictator. In reality, I would argue that he hasn't made a single bad or wrongful decision since he assumed the presidency. If you ask me, the man is a wizard when it comes to PR and I believe his long experience as a businessman is the reason for that. With Donald Trump, it's a love or hate thing; there's just no middle.”

She continued, “That being said, you kind of have to wonder why he's being persecuted so much. If you take a look at the headlines on any given day, you'll see at least two or three newspapers or internet portals that are saying something negative about the man. So, I think anyone with at least an ounce of a brain can see through the charade orchestrated by the so-called ‘liberal media' about how President Trump is waging a media war on them. What's really going on is, they're the ones waging war on him, not the other way around.”

The conservative, sharp-tongued author then proceeded to argue how Trump's media war is being “faked by the media to justify calling me a media whore.” “The beautiful thing about being alive today, Jonathan, is the fact that if you're a public figure – and even if you're not - everything you say stays recorded somewhere one way or another,” Coulter said. “And when you have an entire industry dedicated to warping the consciousness of the American people, it's very tricky to deny having said or done something that goes against your mission or creed.”

“On one hand, here I am, trying to call things what they really are and make sure people have all of the information disclosed before acting and making decisions, and all of a sudden, I get labeled a media whore because someone, in their pitiful excuse for an office and with an even more pitiful excuse for a job, decides they want to get better ratings for their crap newspaper,” she added. “But, therein lies the problem: they've just insulted a public figure, which goes against the freedom of speech. As you know, there's a very fine line between freedom of speech and insulting someone.”

“What's the solution? Well, in their scrawny little minds, they're trying so hard to come up with a solution to justify the fact that they've crossed the line. Because, accountability can be a bitch sometimes, you know?” the pundit opined. “So, what do they come up with? They come up with this huge conspiracy about how President Trump is waging a war on free speech, because he keeps getting mad at the media outlets that keep insulting him and many other conservatives. In reality, Trump's so-called ‘media war' is a lie designed by the same people who are using it to justify calling me a ‘media whore.'”

“Ultimately, the reason why media that's on Obama's and Hillary's payroll is faking Trump's war against them is to make it look like Donald Trump is actually against freedom of speech. So, if he's against freedom of speech, why should anyone else - and especially me, alongside other conservatives that see through their lies and are a pain in the butt because of it - deserve it? It's beautifully designed, you got to hand it to them. But, it's not impossible to see through,” Coulter concluded.

Pat Boone, the right wing lobbyist and musical personality has been at loggerheads with the show Saturday Night Live from the time they made a skit parodying the rightists' persecution complex. He has condemned the program's cast members and called them Satanic and possibly headed for hell. Speaking with Alan Colmes, Boone stated that “there should be regulations that prohibit blasphemy.” He was also of the opinion that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) needed to take punitive measures against channels that allow blasphemous programs. Colmes asked Boone if he would “like the FCC to declare that a show like Saturday Night Live or any other show can't do that kind of humor.” He was in full agreement saying, “You cannot do blasphemy, yes.”

“You have to keep in mind here, Alan, that you're speaking to someone who knows firsthand how show business works,” Boone continued. “I've been doing this for decades and it's not that big of a secret. It's all about popularity and numbers. That's why scandals always sell and get publicity through the roof. Now, on one hand, I think it was great for this country that Donald Trump became president, not only because he's obviously the right man for the job, but more so because he was chosen by God to do it. Now, I don't know about you, Alan, but I haven't seen a lot of people chosen by God to do much at all; to be more precise, I haven't seen anybody who was blessed like that. So, in my mind, that's a pretty big deal, and I'm sure there are millions of Americans who agree with me on that.”

The musician also argued, “That said, you know, it's kind of distasteful and, if we're being honest, flat out insulting to joke around with someone who's responsible for making our home a better place and making our lives better as well. And by the way - I went ahead and took the time to listen to the kind of jokes and sketches they were doing about Mr. Trump - and I really have nothing good to say about any of it. What they call humor, the kind of disgusting impersonations of Mr. Trump and his mannerisms and all that, it's just, I mean, you might as well just go up to the man and spit him right smack in the middle of his face. I believe that would be less insulting and disrespectful to him than what he has to put up with every time those so-called comedians go at it.”

“Bottom line, you just don't have the right to call out people without any sort of responsibility for it and then have the audacity to say you're just practicing free speech and what not, that you're doing your job. That's crossing the line, and not only is it rude, it's also a cheap shot,” the singer said. “So, I'm of the opinion that the government needs to punish the people behind and involved in Saturday Night Live if they so much as laugh at Donald Trump one more time on the show.”

“Again - I would probably take all this a little less seriously if it hadn't been demonstrated on numerous occasions beforehand that he was actually chosen by God to restore this great country to its former glory. But, since that's not the case and he is, I urge the federal government to step out and act on behalf of its commander in chief. It's one thing that Mr. Trump is kind enough to let them get away with it, but I'd hate to see what would happen if they were to start making jokes about someone like, oh, I don't know - Kim Jong Un,” Boon concluded.

Thursday night, nearly two dozen members of Congress joined Religious Rights activists in Washington D.C., for the annual “Washington - A Man of Prayer” event, held in Statuary Hall inside the U.S. Capitol. Over the course of an hour and a half, 20 different members of Congress took to the podium to lead the gathering in prayer, including Rep. Randy Weber of Texas, who repeatedly chocked up while begging God to forgive this nation for the “sins” of legal abortion and marriage equality. Modifying the Lord's Prayer to declare that “thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth here in the halls of Congress,” Weber confessed the “sins our nation has been so emboldened to embark upon” and pleaded with God to forgive us.

“There has been much sin here in this land,” Weber argued. “However, one of the many reasons why it is so fulfilling and rewarding to believe in our Lord Jesus Christ is that he is ever-forgiving and never holds a grudge. No matter how bad one has transgressed or veered from their path, God is always willing to listen to those who repent honestly and truthfully. He always has a seat at His table for such souls. However, I would argue that he tends to view women differently. This because women have in their power the decision to end the life of their unborn child. That is a grave sin; one that many women view as a simple choice when it should not be an option in the first place.”

“Unfortunately, this is hardly news in our society,” Weber continued. “Women have been practicing abortions for ages. However, they never seemed to delve into the righteousness of it all. I believe that's because deep down in their hearts and souls, each and every one of them knows that's the wrong choice to make. Regardless, they consciously choose to ignore their innate instincts and many of them become murderers. Because of this, God has cursed them and punished them by creating men who cannot resist the urge to rape them. Therefore, we are talking here about an occurrence that we men have wrongfully attributed to sickness and lunacy; it is my belief that God is behind every single rapist on earth and uses them willfully as an instrument of his punishment.”

“They are God's way of making sure no murder goes unpunished, especially ones masked by the supposed ‘humane' option of abortion. However, that's not to say there is not a role in it all for the rest of us. When I say rest of us, I'm referring to men who have the courage to continue believing in God and everything He stands for. It is up to us, brothers, to help God in his plan to cleanse the earth from mothers who put their own selfish interests before those of their unborn children. It is up to us to prevent them from having abortions. What I'm saying here is that God has instructed us to save countless lives by way of making sure no woman is allowed to have an abortion. There are many reasons for this, but most notably - who's to say the next Jesus isn't being conceived by the Holy Spirit somewhere right now? If that's so, what's to stop his mother from getting an abortion? You see my point?” Weber concluded rather bizarrely.

Rep. Diane Black (R-TN) didn't seem to know that the latest round of legislation to repeal and replace Obamacare was a new piece of legislation. During a conversation with Jake Tapper, the CNN host was forced to explain to Black that there haven't been any hearings on the Obamacare 3.0 bill and that the CBO hasn't had time to score the legislation. Republicans previously complained that Obamacare was passed too quickly and that no one had the opportunity to read it. Obamacare actually spent a year working through Congress, including numerous committees, two full House votes, one Senate supermajority vote and multiple hearings. The Obamacare 3.0 vote that is supposed to take place prior to President Donald Trump's “First 100 Days” mark will have had none of these things other than a House majority vote, if it even makes it that far.

“I'm sorry Jake, but I just have to ask - why is there this constant, incessant need to question everything Donald Trump-related hundreds of times over and over again?” Black asked Tapper. “I mean, the man decided to run for president, created a mind-blowing campaign, beat every single one of his political opponents and ended up winning the majority of the votes of Americans. I know we're living in the land of equal possibilities for everyone, but isn't Donald Trump's path to the presidency living proof of the trust he has earned throughout his campaign? Coincidentally, I do believe his actions during the presidential campaign also far outweigh any past transgressions or misdeeds. The man has proved to everyone that he has what it takes to lead this country, and most of all, that if you put your faith in him, he will cherish it and do wonderful things with it for the greater good.”

“Similarly,” Black continued, “even though you're absolutely right and your objections are spot on, I still don't think there's anything wrong with putting Obamacare 3.0 on the fast track. Why waste time reading it over and over, then debating over what someone irrelevant thinks is wrong with it, then changing the small print, and then ultimately re-reading it once again? It's such a time-consuming and tiring process. I would argue that Donald Trump has earned our trust to the point where we're able to just give the man a bit more trust and have faith he'll do the right thing just as he has up to this point. I'm sure we've matured that much, or rather, I hope those who matter are, at least.”

“If it were solely up to me, not only would that be a killer job to have, but I would have no problem whatsoever simply signing into effect any and every piece of paper, cardboard or parchment that man sends my way. Seriously, I think he's doing a wonderful job; so much so, in fact, that there really is no need to read the darn thing at all. As a matter of fact, I'd like to start a petition to shorten the time it takes for legislation to go through the red tape before it goes out into the world to do good. And if there's anyone out there who's good with cutting away excess fat, so to speak, it's Donald Trump. We ought to make any and all documents, orders and legislation he comes up with instantly applicable to real-life problems. I think such an approach really has the potential of transforming the way things get done in this country. And that includes cancelling tax returns, since, you know, they're such a nuisance,” she concluded.

Donald Trump on Wednesday said he is “absolutely” considering proposals to break up the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, which houses the judges who have blocked two of the president's executive orders on immigration. “There are many people that want to break up the 9th Circuit. It's outrageous,” Trump told the Washington Examiner in an interview Wednesday. The president also complained that “everybody immediately runs to the 9th Circuit” with challenges to his administration. “They know that's like, semi-automatic,” Trump said. The president's comment comes one day after a U.S. District Judge blocked Trump's Executive Order blocking federal funding for sanctuary cities. Last month, two federal judges ruled against his order banning travel fro, six Middle Eastern countries.

“I don't get what all the fuss is about, if we're being completely honest,” the president argued. “You don't get to overrule or veto something that the commander-in-chief decides needs doing, that's not how the country works, that's not how democracy works and that's just not how America was designed to work. The courts, regardless of who's in them or who the judges are, are under the president in the food chain, not the other way around. And yes, I do believe that's how our forefathers imagined this great country of ours. Sure, the Constitution protects everybody who's here and all that, but you know something? Democracy goes out the window when the very core of the country is at risk. And that's what's happening right now.”

“We're being overrun, people, when are you going to recognize that? We need to protect what little true American values we have left before they're replaced with things like sharia law and praying while facing Mecca,” Trump continued. “And in case you haven't noticed, we get a few more of those people here every time some judge starts seeing himself as a knight in shining armor whose job it is to protect the poor Muslim refugees from the big, bad white president of America. Well, I've got news for you: that's not how the game works, buddy. You've got it backwards. And the reason why all these puny judges get to do such a stupid and idiotic thing is because they have somewhere to go to and complain about their presumed problems and get it sorted within the hour. Newsflash - that's about to change.”

“I am absolutely and very seriously considering breaking up the U.S. Court of Appeals, because it keeps misleading Americans into thinking they're doing a good deed and protecting refugees. In reality, it allows more and more of them to sink their filthy claws into the purity and freedom that is America. I figure, if there's no more 9th Circuit for the altruistically driven judges to run off to whenever I sign an order, I'll have cut off the head of the proverbial snake. A snake I don't hate, by the way; let's be clear on that. I realize they think I'm the bad guy who's trying to persecute innocent Muslims. In reality, they're terribly misled and have it all backwards. That's why they just need to go away before doing anymore damage to this country. They think they're above the law; well, they're not above mine,” he concluded.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) introduced a bill calling for the use of $14 billion seized from cartel drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman to be used to pay for the President's border wall between the U.S. and Mexico. “Fourteen billion dollars will go a long way toward building a wall that will keep Americans safe and hinder the illegal flow of drugs, weapons, and individuals across our southern border,” Senator Cruz stated, according to a statement obtained by Breitbart Texas from the senator's office. “Ensuring the safety and security of Texans is one of my top priorities.”

“Alternatively,” Cruz suggested while commenting on the issue in a recent interview with portal KnowMyRepublican.com, “we could always try to play nice with the big, bad cartel lord and ask him to donate the money to the construction politely. And before I get buried with protests, appeals and insults of angry Americans who believe the only way to deal with drug lords is to hang them by the neck on a public square somewhere, let me just say one thing: politics is a game in which you always strive to ensure the best possible outcome for your country by any means necessary. And if one of those means happens to be the opposite of prosecution and also has the potential of bringing a very good outcome to Texas, we shouldn't be too quick to judge.”

He added, “Ultimately, it's known that drug lords and cartels in general tend to respond well to kindness and respect, which is why I would be willing to take it upon me personally to have a sit down with El Chapo and try to convince him, mano a mano, that it would be wise for him to donate the money instead of us passing a bill that could very easily make him a mortal enemy to any Texan. As for the rhetoric I would use to get him to sway should such an event take place, I would argue that building the wall - and I can't believe I'm actually going to say this - is a good idea after all. This because it is in El Chapo's best interest to keep the majority of Mexicans in Mexico as opposed to all of them moving to the U.S. illegally.”

“Think about it: if every single Mexican that has some sort of skill, and especially those that have the know-how when it comes to growing, processing and overall making different types of drugs, were to cross over to the United States, there would be no one left in Mexico to grow the darn thing. And since we don't allow any drugs to be grown in our country for obvious reasons, building the wall would actually be good for business, for both him and the government. He'd be able to keep at least some parts of his drug empire, whereas we'd still be free of a mass Mexican infestation, while at the same time providing the average Joe with the guilty pleasure of snorting or shooting up some first-class, Mexican-made cocaine or heroine. I think those are the two main types we're talking about, though I could be wrong since I'm certainly no expert. Anyway, if that's not a win-win situation for everybody involved, I don't know what is,” Cruz concluded.
